LWP Calls for Clear, Temporary Fuel Surcharges in Supplier Quotes
Since the escalation of conflict in the Middle East, LWP Site Solutions has seen a noticeable increase in fuel surcharges being added to supplier quotations across the market. While the business recognises the current volatility is creating genuine, short-notice cost pressures for operators, LWP is urging suppliers to apply these charges in a clear and consistent way.
Gill Pelling, CEO of LWP Site Solutions, said: “We accept that fuel surcharges are an inevitable and unexpected expenditure at this time. What we’re asking for is transparency, these costs should be clearly marked on a separate line, rather than being incorporated into the core price as a general increase. When the conflict is resolved and prices return to a more stable level, our expectation is that the additional fuel charge is removed, so customers can see it was temporary and not a permanent uplift.”
As a broker, LWP Site Solutions continues to benchmark the market and secure best-value options for customers wherever possible. However, the company notes that fuel surcharges are unlikely to disappear in the short term and encourages customers to review supplier quotes carefully to ensure any fuel-related charges are itemised, understood, and applied fairly.
