About Us

After working in the waste industry for 30 years I decided it was time for me to 'go it alone'. To think I started as a receptionist and I now have my own business although in the back of my mind it was something I had wanted to do. As it was for many others, it took the pandemic for me to make that move. Fast forward 2 years and I am doing what I love the most.. providing solutions to my customers. It can be just helping a domestic customer know what size skip to hire to supplying all the equipment to shore up a property following a motor vehicle accident where the car went into the property.

Over the last 43 years since leaving college I have covered just about every aspect of clerical/office work, worked with Landfill Sites, managed household and trade waste collections for local authorities, skip movements as well as managing a whole operational depot and customer service department but for the last few years as an employee I focused on building a brokerage department which led me into setting up LWP Waste Solutions.

LWP Waste Solutions expanded and became LWP Site Solutions in January 2023 purely by supporting my customers when they found themselves in a tricky situation. The reward for me is finding that solution to allow my customers to continue focusing on what they do best.

I joined Gill at LWP in November 2022 after working in the clinical waste industry since 2007. I first came to the UK in 2004 from South Africa and within a year I was working as a Sales Administrator for a General Waste company. I completely agree with the saying that, “Waste picks you, you don’t pick waste”.

Like Gill, I love problem solving. My last job in the clinical waste industry was working as a Continuous Improvement Manager across 4 operational facilities and I thoroughly enjoyed the challenges it brought. Prior to becoming a CI Manager I managed a small bid team which led into writing bids for the NHS in the clinical waste industry. Looking back at my essays in school, you would laugh at the thought of me managing a bid team but I loved it, the adrenalin that hit you when you were waiting for the bid to be awarded.

Since joining LWP I have really learnt what excellent customer service really is. Gill is brilliant at going above and beyond for our customers and it is so satisfying and rewarding when we have to dig deep to find the right solution and we deliver it to the customer and they accept it. Yes!!

I haven’t had much experience directly with brokering other that managing total waste contracts but I am absolutely loving it. We have our regular customers but we also get enquiries from new customers that stretch our knowledge and skills to find that golden solution!

The journey we are about to take is one that I have been dying to be apart of for a long time.
